The International University Center for Soul Studies
Libera Università Junghiana
(think tank on Jungian and philosophical Studies)
Aims and Perspectives
Founded in October 2007 in Florence, the first International University Center for Soul Studies (certainly the first in its genre), aims at investigating the Soul, through an historical perspective dating back to its origins until today, of its conceptions and all its representations, structures, and functional dynamics.
This is a university, as well as a post-graduate international Center, which welcomes and intends to bring together scholars, lecturers, and students from all over the world to focus on themes, images, and ideas regarding the Soul, through disciplines which have been dealing with it for millennia (such as Philosophy, Theology, Mythology, Ethno-Anthropology, Semiology, along with the more recent development, Psychology, especially Depth Psychology, which, not coincidentally, has been named Depth).
The school is an international university Center par excellence, offering lectures, seminars, and coursework in Italian and English, which aims to obtain recognition and progressively strengthen its reputation among the diverse institutes, universities and institutions from across the world, with which our relations have already been set in motion, besides the consolidation of our relations with the University Centers and Laurea Degree Coursework of the University of Florence, where our contacts are already a well-established reality, with the primary objective to create the first Post-Graduate Program with Coursework on Soul Studies. (see the page: “events and didactic activity”).
The Center’s objective is a major innovative project, yet well-defined, and clear and concise.
Our International School for Self-philosophy and Soul-therapy www.selfphilosophy.org will be an integral part of The International University Center for Soul Studies.
The Center is a new reality which already anticipates the organization of courses, seminars, lectures, and conferences of the highest levels, with guest lecturers and scholars of indisputable international prestige, through a solid and highly qualified didactic program, which will be capable of offering ideas, reflections, analyses, and instruments for an interpretation of one’s own individual path, the journey of the Soul, and its profound meanings, as well as the deepest meanings of things. The coursework which constitutes the Masters Program will be scheduled for brief periods with intensive didactics and formats (morning and afternoon classes), to be held in our location at Villa Le PIazzole www.lepiazzole.com and Villa I Giullari www.villaigiullari.it in Florence.
We anticipate the official opening of the new Center to take place in conjunction with the IV Florence Summer Program (June 2008), where we will introduce the first Intensive Masters Program with Coursework on Self-Philosophy and Soul Studies.
